The who and where has been all over the map. It has been crazy how many different opinions we have received from friends and doctors as to where Pops needs to be for treatment. To make a 14 day story as short as I can, Pops is currently being seen by an oncologist in Fort Worth with Texas Oncology. The best way to explain the decisions is that we are prayerfully walking through the doors God had opened on decision at a time.
Mimi and Pops started the process to get into MD Anderson the day after Pops was discharged. In the processing/review, they (MD Anderson) needed updated blood work and Pops was referred to a FW oncologist. We have been praying that it would be made crystal clear where Pops needs to be, and today that happened. The decision was not left up to us whether to stay in FW or head to Houston. The nurse reviewing Pops' file does not believe he is strong enough to make the trip right now. His hemoglobin level is too low. He needs to take it easy. Who will volunteer to come sit on him for us?
We know God's timing is perfect and none of this surprises him. We are ever so thankful he was not at the ranch by himself when he started throwing up blood two weeks ago. We are thankful that he is already established with another oncologist he is comfortable with and the tests are being scheduled. I cannot even imagine what we would feel like today if we had heard "we can't see him here yet" from MD Anderson and he was not established with the FW doctor. We are ready for the waiting to be done and the test results to be in so we can move forward.
Please pray for wisdom by the doctors this week as they read the results and for us as we {hopefully} learn the results. Please pray for renewed energy level for Pops and that his hemoglobin will return to normal.

I am glad we are going to be under way with test. I am ready for Pops to get to aggressive treatment. Wayne G
